Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • 1. Articles submitted for the Iberoamerican Journal of Corporate Governance must be unpublished and are not under evaluation process for publication in any other publication vehicle. Papers published in annals of scientific events may be submitted, provided that significant improvements (feedback) have been incorporated in relation to the version already published in the scientific event. If the paper has been previously published in printed or electronic form, such as a working paper, text for discussion or similar format, the author must remove it from circulation during the IJCG review process and, if accepted for publication, ensure that publication only occurs in this journal.
  • 2. The work to be submitted follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, on the About the Journal page.
  • 3. The maximum number of authors per article is four, ordered according to the contribution of each one to the text.
  • 4. The submission file must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc, .docx), and cannot exceed 2MB.
  • 5. In submitting the article, the author(s) must be aware that:
    a) The article is spelled correctly in grammatical terms, being the responsibility of the authors the provision of the evaluation version of the paper reviewed by professional reviewers. The referees will not make corrections;
    b) The article, after approval by the peers and with the endorsement of publication, will only be definitively approved for publication if the text follows correctly the norms and grammar of the Portuguese, English (English-US) and/or Spanish language;
    c) The editor and/or any individual or institution linked to its collegiate bodies are not responsible for the opinions, ideas, concepts and positions expressed in the texts, as they are the sole responsibility of the author(s);
  • 6. Letter to the editor: Along with the article, a letter should be sent to the editor explaining the scientific contribution of the article with the proper justification of how it contributes. In the case of work published in annals of scientific events, it is relevant to mention the fact in the letter, as well as to mention the main improvements incorporated in it. This letter should be reduced to only one page and should be submitted as a Supplementary Document to the article.
  • 7. All articles submitted and published in the JOURNAL must be original, not published in any periodical and in any book or scientific manuscript. The articles should be unpublished.
  • 8. When submitting a paper for consideration, all authors and co-authors undertake to carry out the evaluation of up to 2 (TWO) articles by other authors, in the Double Blind Review system.
  • 1.1 TITLE, ABSTRACT AND KEYWORDS

    Insert the title at the beginning of the work, with the first letters of each word in capital letters, followed by abstract in English, keywords, abstract in Portuguese and keywords, without identification of the author(s). Works in English should also include title, abstract and keywords in Portuguese.

    Title: The title should contain up to 15 words and represent the 'minor summary' of the article's content.

    Summary: should contain up to 250 words, and clearly state:

    - Objective (mandatory): Indicate the purpose of the work, that is, what it intends to demonstrate or describe;

    - Method (mandatory in empirical study): Indicate the scientific method employed in conducting the study. In the case of theoretical essays, change the name of the topic to Theoretical Approach and it is recommended that the author(s) indicate the theoretical approach adopted;

    - Results (mandatory): Briefly state the main results achieved;

    - Originality/Relevance (mandatory): Indicate the theoretical gap in which the study is inserted, also presenting the academic relevance of the subject;

    - Theoretical/methodological contributions (mandatory): Indicate the main theoretical and/or methodological implications that were reached through the findings of the study;

    - Social/management contributions (optional): Indicate the main managerial and/or social implications achieved through the findings of the study.

    Keywords: between three and five keywords that characterize the work.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

• The article submitted to the IJCG Journal will first be evaluated for its scientific merit;

• The article must be submitted in Portuguese, Spanish or English;

•There should be a maximum of four authors per article;

• The article must be novel in Brazil and any other country. A preliminary version presented in the annals of international or national scientific events will not be considered a breach of novelty;

• The IJCG Journal stimulates the participation, in a fast track regime, of the best articles presented in conventions. It should be noted that these articles go through a double blind review and are analyzed under the same selection criteria of all other texts;

• The article cannot be submitted to a simultaneous evaluation in another journal;

• The Editor may accept or decline the submitted article, according to the journal’s editorial policy; • The Editor may suggest alterations to the article related both to the content and compliance with writing and presentation standards set by the American Psychological Association (APA);

• The articles must be written in a clear and objective fashion. The author must avoid colloquial language, jargon or technical terms without duly explaining them; • It is paramount the Portuguese text is reviewed, for articles presenting problems of this nature will be rejected;

• The texts must be accompanied, in a separate file, by a letter authorizing the publication and concession of copyrights;

• The editorial team is not responsible for the opinions, ideas and concepts emitted in the published texts, these being the full responsibility of the author(s).

Publication Standards

• The file must be written in Microsoft Word or RTF format, and must not exceed 2MB;

• The text's writing and presentation must comply with the standards outlined by the APA. The text must be written with Times New Roman font, 12 pt, single-spaced and justified;

• For paragraphs, the first line of each paragraph should be indented 1.25cm and with single line spacing between paragraphs;

• The page layout must be A4 (29.7 x 21 cm), with the following margins: top (3 cm), left (3 cm), bottom (2 cm) and right (2 cm);

• The articles must have a minimum of 14 and maximum of 17 pages, including tables, notes and references;

• The following structure must be adopted when writing the article: title, abstract (in Portuguese), keywords (in Portuguese), abstract (in English), keywords (in English), introduction, theoretical framework, methodology, results and discussion, conclusion and references;

• The title of the text, and its sections, must be entirely written in capitals and the captions in small letters. Both should be typed in bold, with the corresponding Hindu-Arabic numbering;

• One cannot include a caption immediately after a title or caption; it is necessary to have at least one paragraph separating the two;

• Tables, graphs and figures must be included in the main document, in the sequence which they appear in the text and written in 10 pt;

• The abstracts, in both Portuguese and English, must contain a maximum of 250 words and must highlight the objective, methodology and main results;

• The author(s) must choose four to six keywords, in both Portuguese and English, that indicate the work's content; • Bold type should only be used in titles and captions;

• Foreign words must be written in Italic, and neologisms or unusual meanings must be enclosed in quotation marks;

• Notes should be avoided,but when used must explain and clarify in a succinct manner, and must not be mistaken by references, which should appear at the end of the next, in sequential Hindu-Arabic numbering;

• Articles must be grammatically accurate, for articles presenting problems of this nature will be rejected;

• Articles accepted for publication will be submitted to final editing, and orthographic and grammatical revision;

• The author(s) identification should not occur in the body of the text. On a separate page, the complete name(s) of the author(s) must be presented, accompanied by a brief résumé describing academic and/or professional experience, address, telephone and fax numbers, and emails;

• In the software OJS, adopted by the IJCG Journal, the author(s) will have the article automatically refused by the system if the exclusivity, originality and copyright clauses are not accepted;

• The OJS program records the entry date, and the steps for the evaluation and publication process, permitting the author(s) to automatically follow the article’s status through the system;

• The editor and/or any other individual or institution involved in the collegiate organs are not responsible for the opinions, ideas and concepts emitted in the published texts, these being the full responsibility of the author(s);

• The evaluations are completed in standardized evaluation forms, with spaces for personalized comments sent to the author(s) in case of a conditional acceptance, correction(s)or refusal; • The article must be submitted solely online, on the website.

Perspectives

Guest papers. It is a manuscript that brings scientific contribution and are characterized by critical and creative approaches, revealing new perspectives and leading readers to reflections on relevant topics in the area of knowledge. The format follows the same pattern as the scientific article.
